The short news: I have started adding support for iPhones and other phones which have a fairly modern browser. Overall though, everyone should see performance improvements when loading pages that have a lot of images on them (profiles with 500+ pictures for example).

The long (technical) news: I have been working on loading the large version of pictures only when you click or hover over the picture to see the enlarged image. This means that HITS will only download the big version of the images you want to see, not all of them.

This update might break the “hover enlarge” (when you put your mouse over one of the pictures and it shows you the big version of the image) feature of HITS.
To fix this, just hold down the shift key and refresh the HITS page. This clears the cache for the page you’re loading, and you should get the updated version of HITS. You should only need to do this once.
