Invisible Code
« on: May 25, 2009, 02:55:51 PM »
Hi,

I have a potentially stupid question, but HITS and the FF adblock filters can detect known trackers even if the width/margin/whatever has been set to 0 and 0 to make the code invisible on the page, right?  I have always assumed this to be true, but never asked (couldn't find the answer on she-geeks or grownup geeks either), so I wanted to make sure....

Thanks!

The short answer, yes, it can detect the trackers.

The site looks for the specific URLs used in the images/objects that are on the profile pages, it doesn't matter whether or not the width and sizes are set or what they're set to.
