Frequently Asked Questions
How do I use your scripts?
First you will need to know a Myspace profile's friendID or their Myspace URL name. You can get this by going to the person's Myspace profile one time and then looking at their "Myspace URL:" box. This will either give you their Myspace friendID (numbers only), or their Myspace URL name (numbers + letters).
For example:
www.myspace.com/tom, www.myspace.com/TilaTequila, www.myspace.com/41736
Once you have either friendID or their URL name, you can put that into the scripts "friendID" input box and click on "DO IT!"
Example:
tom, TilaTequila, 41736
As an alternative, you can also put in the friendID or URL name at the end of my site's URL.
Example:
/m/tom
/m/TilaTequila
/m/41736
What do your scripts do?
Grab more profile info!
Gets general information from the person's main Myspace profile page such as their default picture, Myspace profile song, name, headline, last login date, user info, friend and comment count, status and top friends.
Grab the pics!
Gets ALL of the person's public pictures and displays them in one location, instead of page by page like Myspace does.
Grab the comments!
Gets a cleanly formatted version of the person's comment area, useful for those Myspace profiles that have their comments hidden.
Grab the comments (RSS FEED)!
Grabs the comments and outputs them as an rss feed for subscription to them using an RSS reader.
The
Flock web browser handles this very well, even with private Myspace profiles if you set the login info.
Grab the blogs!
Loads the blogs the person has posted.
Check the trackers!
Checks the person's code to see whether or not they have referenced the name of a site that provides Myspace tracking services.
In other words, you can use this script to safely check whether or not the person has a Myspace profile tracker.
If a person has a Myspace profile tracker on his/her Myspace profile, will I get tracked by using your scripts?
No. Unless the Myspace tracker is somehow on that Myspace profile's comments, then none of my scripts will load the Myspace trackers.
I have actually changed my "Grab Info" script to show you the code if there's anything in the headline of the person's Myspace profile.
Do any of your scripts work with private Myspace profiles?
Yes, the grab info script will work with private Myspace profiles, BUT it will only grab a small amount of information from that Myspace profile.
Most of the scripts require a Myspace profile to be set to PUBLIC in order to be used to their full potential.
The "Set Login Info" option will let you use your Myspace username and password to log in and "grab" the information from a person's Myspace profile if you have that person added as a friend.
Can your scripts find Myspace trackers used in private Myspace profiles?
The script can only "see" as much as you can see if you're logged out and looking at a page. For example, if a person's Myspace profile is on private, the only part of the page that you'll see which can have any code is the headline. This means that if a Myspace tracker is NOT in a private Myspace profile's headline, then the script will tell you that there is no Myspace tracker on the page, even though there may be a Myspace tracker on the full Myspace profile (which you can see by adding that user.)
Again, on a private Myspace profile, the script will only catch Myspace trackers that are in the headline!
With the addition of the "Set Login Info" option though, you should be able to scan a Myspace profile that you have added to your Mysace.
Do you accept donations?
Even though I don't require anyone to pay me for my scripts, I do accept donations. You can click on the "Paypal Donate" button on the main page in order to donate any amount you wish.
Thanks in advance.
